Good race, great result.
Ferrari ruined Alonso's day for him.
Fantastic.

Yip great to see not Lewis win the championship today. Alonso had a good run at the end of the championship but it dose look as it we stuffed it a bit at the end. Although the call for the stop looks wrong it's not the only reason we lost. McLaren had increased pace for the last GP we had not and where slower than Red Bull also.
I'm glad Vettel has won and not Webber a Webber championship would have been bad for the sport after what happened today.

Big congratulations to Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull today - was a great result, and a very calm, composed and mature drive to come from an outside position in third in the title to take the win.
Webber and Alonso just didnt seem to turn up today, and strategy can be blamed and circumstances etc, but the truth of it is they didnt pass the guys they needed to, and the result was ultimately down to the drivers. Webber messed up in quali and never quite recovered, and Alonso just didnt seem to put 100% in to passing Petrov - there was a title at stake today, he should have been having attempt after attempt to get past instead of sitting and waiting for Vettel to hit trouble. You cant run a race on the theory that Vettel MAY have a problem and dont want to go out having an attempt to pass - Petrov and Rosberg arent stupid, they wouldnt have taken out a title contender by ruthlessy defending. With Webber behind him fourth was achieveable today, and that was all he needed. I agree shumiferades, Mclaren and Red Bull were faster this weekend and i doubt Alonso would have beaten the top three, but he only needed fourth with Webber not up at the front, and there is no way that he should have allowed himself to be beaten by a Renault and a Merc - which werent faster than him this weekend.
Not that I'm complaining, i want to go out and give Petrov a huge pat on the back for not leaping out of the way - I'd have hated a Ferrari title! Alonso's fist waving at Petrov after was just stupid as well - Petrov was perfectly entitled to keep his ground - hes fighting for his drive after all. Loved his little swerve towards Alonso to shut him up too! Brilliant!

Lewis Hamilton says that Renault where part of Red Bulls team orders package. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9188433.stmWe clearly saw Algeswary move over to let Webber past than then block Massa. Alonso was stuck behind Petrov and Hamilton was stuck behind Kubica. Really STR can no longer be seen as a valid entry and should be thrown out of F1. Renault supply customer engines to Red Bull. On several occasions this year these engines have failed costing RBR valuable points. Renault even left the need to publicly apologise to RBR. If this was all the tactical the two red bull teams and Renault all acting together then this would be awful result. Let’s hope it's not true but I guess we are never going to know.

Oh Renault were not intentionally helping Red Bull, it just worked out that way. I was surprised that Hamilton did say that, i saw him say it on the forum - but then it wouldnt be the first time Lewis opened his mouth without thinking, and he would have been frustrated at himself for not passing. He tried to cover it up afterwards
As for STR, i said in my other post, when Red Bull fund two competitve teams in F1, during a time when so many others are pulling out i think they are entitled to a little assistance at the final race of the season when there is a championship battle at stake - plus he didnt immediately let him past, the time Webber spent behind him coud have cost him the place to Alonso - so ultimately he gained nothing by being let past anyways! STR just did what Sauber did for many many years for Ferrari! And Alguersuari didnt block Massa, Massa just didnt pass, as Alonso didnt pass Petrov and Lewis didnt pass Kubica. Kubica on the other hand did pass Kobayashi, round the outside. So it was possible!

(Whisper it) I feel a bit sorry for Mark Webber. It's not nice to be beaten ever and you have to think that Vettel will be even more strong psychologically in 2011. He may well beat Webber by an even greater margin next year.
I am pleasantly surprised by the way Jenson favoured against incumbent Hamilton over a year. The gap between him and Lewis in the points is not vast - certainly not compared to the gaps between Alonso and Massa or Rosberg and Schumacher.
You'd have to say that there were far too many mistakes made by all of the potential WDCs over the course of the year. The Red Bulls drove into far too many other cars and walls - particularly Webber. I can't think of a distinct mistake that Jenson made himself - obviously he was taken out by Vettel in Spa and McLaren left some device in his sidepods in Monaco which cost him points, for sure - but he didn't have the ultimate pace to take the advantage of this and win the WDC again.
In the end, I think the best team won the Constructors and the best driver won the Drivers' Championship.
Ferrari were wrong to cheat in Germany and make Massa let Alonso by, as it made no difference. To my mind, he lost the championship by 11 points, as he gained 7 in the team orders debacle.
If Massa has any sense, he will be looking for another seat somewhere else at the earliest opportunity. Ferrari don't love him anymore, so he should move on.

He tried to cover it up afterwards I got the impression Lewis was trying to not say to much as he did not want to cause a scandle etc. I am sure in his mind he thinks Renault were holding him back on purpose. (Whisper it) I feel a bit sorry for Mark Webber. It's not nice to be beaten ever and you have to think that Vettel will be even more strong psychologically in 2011. He may well beat Webber by an even greater margin next year. Yeah Marks position within the team is not great. I think it's mostly his own fault. He comes across a bit selfish to me. He wanted Red Bull to favour him over Vettle and if they had it would have been a disaster. If Massa has any sense, he will be looking for another seat somewhere else at the earliest opportunity. Ferrari don't love him anymore, so he should move on. I hope Massa moves on as well. He's not good enough anymore. When he was younger and hungrier he could do a bit better. Now he has moved on to the next part of his career where he isn't going to win any WDCs and can be a good driver for a mid table team. Ferrari needs somebody who can do as well as Alonso and push him. I hope we get Kubica.
